Out of luck on the Mutiny!

Leading Manx co-driver Rob Fagg partnered George Collister in the third round of the ANCRO Clubman's Championship, the Mutiny Clubman's Rally based in Builth Wells at the weekend.

The pair ran consistently in the top four of the event and on stage 7 took the lead from championship rival Allan McDowall. Unknown to the Manx crew they went into the final stage 15 seconds in the lead, but a slippery entry to a Sq R Sq L corner sequence saw them leave the road and become lodged on a tree stump. With the help of the spectators on the corner they were returned to the road but had dropped 2 minutes and with it any chance of victory.

Tales afterwards would revel that many of the competing crews in both the Clubman's and National event had moments there but none as serious as the 4WD and Van Centre backed crew.

Despite the time loss they did manage to hang on to 6th place and the 17 points that come with it, but the result for their rivals drops them further behind in the championship tables.

The next round, the Swansea Bay Rally takes place on the 23rd July where George and Rob know they must turn things around and get that illusive win. Prior to that event Rob will compete on the Scottish Stars Rally and Dukeries Rally alongside James Wozencroft in the Team Thompson Suzuki Ignis while George will tackle the Kingsmead Forest Rally, round 2 of the Manx Championship.
