Points and Problems for Fagg in Yorkshire

Last weekend saw Manx Motorsport Youth Trust supported Rob Fagg travel from the his Isle of Man home to the UK to contest the second round of the BTRDA Silkolene 1400 Championship, the North Humberside Forest Stages.

Competing alongside Tony Simpson of Liverpool the pair started confidently and posted the second fastest time in the N1 production class around the tarmac stage on Olivier's Mount motorcycle circuit.   The remained of the event took the www.rallyschool.co.uk run Polo crew into the Yorkshire forests where they hoped to post some competitive class times.

Inside the car the crew were beginning to gel and work well on what was only their second event together and were both feeling confident.   They ended the event in a disappointing 102nd overall and 6th in their class, although they were not helped by the fact the car to began to loose power during Stage 4 and continued to do so till he end of the event, making the 40 mile road section to the finish a nervous time.

The result gave Rob his first points in the BTRDA Silkolene 1400 Championship and in the class N1 championship.   The next round of the championship, the Somerset Stages takes place on the 24th April.   This will be all new to Rob but despite this he will hope to add to the points scored at the weekend.

Thanks for support towards the BTRDA season goes to :- Manx Motorsport Youth Trust, Integrated Capabilities, Aon (IOM) Ltd, www.rallyschool.co.uk and www.rallycodriver.co.uk
