The Manx Motorsport Youth Trust backed crew of Andrew Leece and
Rob Fagg travel from their Isle of Man homes to Hinckley in
Leicestershire this weekend to contest the Rally of the Midlands.
The event is the third round of the Silverstone Tyres Ford
Rallye Sport Ka Championship and takes place over four venues
making up the 18 sealed surface stages with a total mileage close
to 80 miles.
After
getting his season of the mark on the last round when he finished
in 3rd place and 2nd Junior, Andrew will be
keen to get more points on the board in his Mark Higgins Rallying
Ka. With Fagg
back alongside they will be looking for another top 3 result to
keep their championship dream alive.
The
strong showing in the early part last years Manx Trophy Rally,
must make Leece one of the favourites for honours on the tarmac
event. With no
notes on this round, Andrew will be looking for navigator Fagg to
be on top form and pick all the information possible from the maps
provided to get them round the stages.
Strong
opposition will come from series leader John Hanson, pace setter
Tom Lunn and the talented Scotsman Innes Clark. It is vital though
that this weekend Leece closes the gap to those ahead of him and
the change of surface gives him the ideal opportunity to do this.
Andrew
and Rob would like to thank the following for their continued
support: Manx Motorsport Youth Trust, Mark Higgins Rallying,
Forest Experience Rally School, Motivation Engineering, Ken and
Eve Leece, Manx Gas, Integrated Capabilities, Aon (IOM) Ltd and www.rallycodriver.co.uk
