Last weekend saw the Manx Motorsport Youth
Trust supported crew of George Collister and co-driver Rob Fagg
compete on the Pickering based Kall Kwik Rally, the first round of
the Kumho Clubman’s Championship.
After an initial slow start the pair would
finish the event in 24th overall and 5th in
their class. More
importantly to them though was that they were the 6th
registered Kumho Clubman series competitor home and thus securing
valuable points on the opening round of the series.
At present the results remain provisional due to the tragic
circumstances surrounding the event.
George commented “The slippery surface on
the early stages caught me out and we spun four times I think, this
costing us valuable time.
Despite this I am happy with the result and getting some
points on the board early on.
The competition is very strong and already it looks like
being a good battle is in store at the front.”
George will now turn his focus to preparing
for the second round on the 3rd April, the Astra Stages. Rob has slightly less to wait till his next outing; he
will be competing in the Malcolm Wilson Rally on the 6th
March.
