Over
the Easter break Davey Craine and Rob Fagg travelled across to
Northern Ireland where they would compete in the Circuit of
Ireland National Rally. With no time to reece the stages
due to the pairing being away the weekend prior at the Astra Stages
they took to the stages blind with just the advice from the friendly
locals to help them.
The
opening days stages were very slippery and a number of competing
cars would fall victim to these conditions. Craine and
Fagg though would make it to the overnight Parc Ferme lying in 18th
position and in confident mood towards the second day.
On
the first two stages of the second leg Davey and Rob received
notional times due to accidents in the stages causing the
cancellation of them. The third stage would also be
cancelled due to an accident involving the safety car.
With a repeat of these stages making up three of the final four
stages, they hoped for a clear run through and the chance to
improve on there 18th placing. This was the case and
with good teamwork within the car they climbed the standings to
finish in 12th overall and claim the class award.
Davey
and Rob would like to express there thanks to the Forde family for their
hospitality and help throughout the event, without whom the trip
would not have been possible.
Rob would
like to thank the following for their continued support: Manx
