Further dissapointment for Bettridge / Fagg

It was another disappointing weekend for Robert Fagg competing on the Prosport Red Dragon Rally alongside Matthew Bettridge. The event marked the half way point in the Ford Rallye Sport Ka Championship, which so far has not been kind to the Manx Motorsport Youth Trust supported crew.

After a steady run through the opening stage of the rally their bad luck was to continue. Three miles into the second stage, Tower 1, the car began to loose power on a uphill section before gradually coming to a halt sounding very ill. It was a carbon copy of their retirement on the previous round and with a freshly rebuilt motor in the car prior to the event the crew will have to look else where for the fault.

With no obvious reason to there engine problems the crew are considering missing the Jim Clark Memorial Rally at the beginning of July. This will provide time to investigate the fault and ensure the car is best prepared to offer a good run in front of there home crowd on the Manx Trophy Rally.

The next event in Rob's calendar is scheduled to be the Jurby Stages on the 15th June.   Regular championship driver though George Collister is not going to be ready for the event due to a major engine upgrade.

This has left Rob looking for a seat for the event in the hope he can add to his points scored on the 2nd Round.

Also after the recent problems with the Ka he may be looking for a run on the Jim Clark at the start of July.

We will keep you updated here.
