Another retirement for Fagg on
home event It was another disappointing retirement on his home event for Manx Motorsport Youth Trust supported Rob Fagg, the sixth round of the Ford Rallye Sport Ka Championship. He was competing alongside Eliot Retallick in the West Midlands Motorsport prepared Ka after a late switch from regular driver Matthew Bettridge. This was Eliot’s first visit to the Isle of Man and also the pairings first event together. After a long tough reece the crew were hoping that this would pay off and enable them to set a good pace from the first stage. It was not long before they had gelled in the car and the notes were flowing with Eliot gaining confidence with every corner. After what appeared to the crew initially as a slow time it became apparent that they had set sixth fastest time. The very next stage was to prove to be there last of the event, roughly 2 miles in they left the road and rolled out of the event. The car laid too far off the road to even think about getting it back on the road to continue. Both Eliot and Rob felt dejected after the accident, it was just to prove an accident with neither of them at fault. The next round of the championship is on the 24th August and is the Mewla Rally. Hopefully Eliot and the WM Motorsport team will have the car out on that event. Rob at present is unsure of his plans from now to the end of the season but is sure to announce them shortly.
