Fresh motor brings fresh hope

Manx Motorsport Youth Trust supported  Robert Fagg will travel to Swansea this weekend to contest the Prosport Red Dragon Rally. He again will compete alongside Matthew Betteridge for the event marks the half way stage of the Ford Rally Sport Ka Championship and will see 25 crews take the start.

The season so far has not bought much luck for the Manx pairing who retired on the Malcolm Wilson with a broken gearbox, but more recently the Pirelli Northumbria event with a blown motor. They have just taken delivery of the freshly built motor and this coupled with the recently re-built gearbox will offer them there best package so far.

For the event the crews will be back on the maps and this makes it slightly trickier for the crews to be 100% committed on the stages. Rob will be trying to relay as much information from the maps to Matthew as possible to enable the stages to be attacked as hard as possible.

The rally will start with the first car leaving Abervaron at 8:00 and due into the first stage, Rhondda at 8:38. The crews will then tackle a further two stages before repeating the stages for a second time to complete the 45 mile six stage event. The cars should start to arrive back at Abervaron for the finish from 16:10 onwards.
