Fagg
hopes to get a finish on the Plains
The
event will see him again sit alongside fellow youth trust recipient Andrew
Leece, as stand in for Andrew’s regular partner Richard Skinner who has
not recovered from a recurring back injury. The
Plains Rally sees the Ka crews return to gravel after three tarmac events.
The last time that they competed on gravel was at the end of May
for the Red Dragon rally. On that occasion Rob competed alongside Matthew
Bettridge but they were side lined on stage two with engine problems. After
a year of disappointment in the championship he goes into the last round
hoping to finish on a good note.
“After
the weekends 3rd place on the Duke Stages with George Collister,
I have re-discovered what I love about rallying and that is the adrenaline
rush. Early retirements
on recent events have made events unenjoyable and not given me that rush.
I just hope Andy and I can get a finish this weekend and enjoy the
final run of the year in the Ka” explained Rob to us. Looking
at the championship, Andrew currently lies in 18th place.
A win this weekend would see him claim a top ten placing.
This obviously being dependant on the results of others,
realistically though his aim should be to secure a top 15.
After a hard year with five retirements and two low scoring
finishes, Rob is in 27th position.
Again a good run this weekend and depending on the co-drivers above
scoring points he could move up the table a few places in his first year
of UK competition. Rob
will therefore be hoping to help Andy achieve these end of season goals as
well as grab some points for himself. Thanks
