Metcalfe & Fagg team up for Jim Clark
With regular Ka driver Matthew Bettridge missing the event due to the problems encountered on the previous round, the Integrated Capabilities backed Manxman will be partnering Dumfries based Tom Metcalfe. Tom is new to the championship, his first round being the Red Dragon at the end of May when he was forced to retire due to a broken fuel pump. The event will start on Friday evening with two spectator stages around the Ocean Terminal retail complex in Leith, which will then lead them to parc ferme for the evening. The event resumes on Saturday morning where the crews will tackle 3 stages run twice each around the Duns area. "After the disappointments so far this year which have all been on the loose, I am hoping the tarmac will bring better fortune and some rewarding results." Rob told us. The Jim Clark is run entirely on closed roads and it is also using pace notes instead of the maps, which provide better descriptions of the stages for the drivers. "I am really looking forward to the event especially with the mix of pace notes and the fast tarmac stages. It is a shame that Matthew is not competing as I am sure with the car set-up right he could have put in a good run, but I am hopeful that Tom and myself will be able to put in a decent run" explained Rob.
